Mr. D. Craig Dotson, age 55, of Denison, Texas passed away at his home of Sunday, December 28, 2008.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. Burial will follow under the care and direction of Johnson - Moore Funeral Home of Denison, Texas.



A  visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Johnson - Moore Funeral Home, 631 W. Woodard Street, Denison, Texas.



Mr. Dotson was born on August 23, 1953 in Abilene, Texas to Alwyn and Joy Gooch Dotson. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1972 and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Texas and his Masters Degree for Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. He married Irene Pietzsch on July 20, 1973. He later married Delynnis Draper VanKirk on May 18, 2001 in Denison, Texas.



Mr. Dotson was the Instrument and Control Tech for the City of Sherman Water Department. He was a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene.



Mr. Dotson was preceded in death by his parents.



Mr. Dotson is survived by: his wife of seven years, Delynnis Dotson of Denison, Texas; son, Stephen Dotson and wife, Katie of Tyler, Texas and step son, Mark VanKirk and wife, Nicole of Denton, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Dotson of Paris, Texas; brother, Kyle Dotson and wife, Jill, of San Jose, California; sister, Desda Dotson of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Dotson, Courtney Dotson, Aidan Rose and Murphy Benton; step grandchildren, Gage and Ganon VanKirk.



The family suggests memorials to the Building Fund for Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N. Lillis Lane, Denison, Texas 75020.
