Linda was so sweet. I will never forget the horrible July 4th, 1972 accident that took her life (and her sister and mother). So sad that she never got to fulfill her dreams. Beth Cline (now Asher)

Belynande "Linda" Hedstrom (Johanningsmeier)

She was one of the five Linda's in my English class. The only one who did not get assigned a new name...it was so funny trying to remember who we were. Linda (Belyndae) Hedstrom

Beth I recall you were with Mitzi and some others that day when Linda's boyfriend came to the door wondering when he heard on the news or the radio- also I worked at Beef and Bun and the Ms. Bairds man was the father of the neighbor who survived the accident.  Such a sad ending to our year.

4th of July has never been the same for me since Linda died.  She and I were in so many classes together, often competing, and I loved being around her.

Glenda Evans (McMenamy)

I was working at MDA summer camp in the summer of 1972 and didn't hear about Linda's death until after the funeral.  I was devastated when I heard the news.  When I returned to Abilene, I visited her dad.  What do you say to someone who lost a daughter, son, and wife, all in one day?  Linda and I were friends at Mann and AHS and would have been at McMurry too.  I still miss her and her infectious laugh.

Dear sweet Linda

I grew up with you from Jane Long Elementary, Mann Junior High and Abilene High School.  We  played with dolls when we little girls and I had an amazing spaghetti dinner at your house hearing words spoken in Italian. I will never ever forget you and was devasted when I heard of the accident that took your life and lives of your family and friends.  I can remember it as if it were yesterday.  You were the kindest most intelligent soul that I grew up with and I'm grateful to have had you in my life.  You will always be missed my sweet friend, Linda
