Russell Forrester

Russell “Rusty” Lee Forrester, age 59 of Cedar Creek, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2013. Rusty was born January 28, 1954 in Abilene, Texas to Margaret and Carroll Forrester. Growing up in Abilene Rusty really enjoyed life. Some of his favorite hobbies included sports, hunting, fishing and the outdoors! Rusty graduated in 1972 from Abilene High School graduating top 25 in his class. Playing football, baseball, and basketball, where he made all state in basketball he went on to play at Navarro Junior College. He then attended Sam Houston State University, graduating in 1976 with a degree in Government and Spanish. Rusty owned and had a passion for his custom cabinet business, Forrester Wood Products, serving home owners in Bastrop County and surrounding counties for over 20 years. He was involved in coaching soccer for the Bastrop Youth Soccer Organization (BYSO) for several years, where he also served as the BYSO president. While his children were attending Headstart he was also a president there. He loved to travel, so he spent the last 10 years remodeling hotels with Case and Associates across the United States. He was preceded in death by his father Carroll Forrester and his grandparents George and Pebble Forrester and Eugene and Lillie Fleming. He is survived by his mother; Margaret Forrester, his children; Nicole Forrester and Jarod Forrester; his step-children Danielle Del-Toro, Noelle Duncan and Elisabeth Ramos, his wife; Maria “Vicki” Victoria Del-Toro-Forrester, his brothers; Mike Forrester and Rick Forrester, his nephews; Cody Forrester, George Forrester and Samuel Forrester; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Step-Grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at MD Anderson for his care. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday November 6, 2013, at Providence-Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday November 7, 2013 at Providence-Jones Funeral Home with Interment following at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Texas. A memorial service will be held in Abilene, Texas on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 12:30 AM at North Park Baptist Church with Brother Louis and Randy Roy officiating.
